UIT Wins NUCA's 2015 Top Job Award

Underground Infrastructure Technologies (UIT) was awarded First Place (in a three-way tie) in NUCA’s Top Jobs Awards at the 2016 Annual NUCA Convention in Fajardo, PR, having first won in the Trenchless Technologies division. The Competition recognizes outstanding projects that exhibit innovative solutions to overcome challenging obstacles and produce the highest quality results. A group of independent judges selected the finalists in each category. Convention attendees then selected the winners in each category and voted for an overall winner during the Auction & Awards Gala on March 12, 2016.

City and County of Denver University/Josephine Improvement Project wins American Public Works Association Award

The City and County of Denver University/Josephine Improvement Project was recently named a winner of the American Public Works Association Colorado Chapter Transportation / Large Community award. The award accomplishments included UIT’s hand tunnel installation of more than 150 feet of pipe under 1st Avenue to avoid additional impacts to the eastbound and westbound vehicle and transit traffic moving overhead.

ISEKI Re-emerges in North American Microtunneling Market

In June 2015, UIT utilized the ISEKI Unclemole microtunneling machine to install over 400 feet of steel casing undercrossing Union Pacific Railroad tracks near Denver’s Union Station. UIT’s utilization of the ISEKI machine represented ISEKI’s re-emergence in the North American microtunneling market.

UIT President Jeff Rumer Is Named NUCA’s 2013 Ditchdigger of the Year

UIT’s President, Jeff Rumer, was named the National Utility Contractors Assocation Ditchdigger of the Year award. Presented annually at NUCA’s Convention, the Ditchdigger of the Year is one of the association’s highest honors and is awarded to a contractor member who has made a significant contribution to the association and the underground utility construction and excavation industry.
